Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes

After watching Across the Universe and the past two weeks of idol – all devoted to the Beatles– I went on a little Beatles kick of my own this weekend.  After scouring through my husband’s music collection, and those of his colleagues, I compiled about 5 CDs of the British Invasion. Including my all time favorite, Rocky Raccoon. That’s right CareBear, I’m a raccoon fan. Honestly, one of their best songs and I have no idea why more people don’t know it. Anyway, after hijacking his computer for an hour or so to download everything, I have a mostly complete collection. Yay!

BeatlesMania aside, we also took a trip to Annapolis on Sunday. Once we finally got ourselves together, stopped eating the candy from the Easter  basket I made him, we hit the road. Now that his camera is back from the technology hospital, we are trying to get out to nice places. So, it was quite a day, shopping, oysters and picture fun. You can check out his pictures here.

Anyway, this is pretty boring but I’m really tired and think I need  to go to the car and get my CDs.

Back to Me

Those of you who know me will not be shocked by this… but I am 100% psyched to be back to work. I’ve always been a bit odd. But here I am rested and ready to get back into things. The last week has been spent quietly with family. It’s been nice and don’t get me wrong, while I love to sit around and hang out with my family,  it’s nice to be back to my daily routine.  I have honestly spent every free moment of the last week watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is such a great show and reminded me of something. That’s right our dear slayer has lessons to teach. One- don’t walk in a cemetary late at night and sit on fresh graves unless you have brought a stake; two- if the school swim team has gotten too good and among its key members are the future stars of Prison Break, there is a good chance they have been drugged and are actual fish boys; and three- I shouldn’t stop being myself because it makes someone else think less of me, because than I think less of me. Who knew you could get so much out of vampires, demons and one girl who can kick all their asses. So, while being home and isolated may have lessened the pain and crankiness of some folks, I am so happy to be back. Do you think they’ll let me put a tv in my cube lest my euphoric feeling should fade?

The Year Without a Santa Clause

Best Christmas movie ever!! I’m Mr Heat Miser… loads of fun for everyone. Well, I think I have finally completed my christmas shopping thanks to a last minute bargain with my sister. In exchange for adding her name to the super cool present I got our dad, she will be adding me to the lovely and much less exciting present for my mother.

I think I am finally in the christmas spirit. After baking not one, not two but five dozen Christmas cookies last night, I’m starting to feel it. i’m also felling slightly ill, I think I actually ate a dozen of the cookies myself.

I probably won’t get a chance to write again until after the holidays, so Merry Christmas everyone!!

Nice

Seems my dear Cari has already eloquently described my excitement for today’s outting here. Princess Cari and Princess Me will be enjoying a Disney evening.

Danger Danger

Aren’t the holidays supposed to put people in a nice cheerful mood… even those of us who don’t know what cheer is? So why does it seem to always bring out the crazies? Aside from the lunatics that begin showing their faces around the holidays, the normally nice-ish folk I know have also turned a bit nasty and mean. I am so not used to being the nicest person in the room and i am not sure what to do with this. Anyway, I think I may bury myself in a hole until after christmas to avoid all the hypothetical conversations, the nasty glances, the weird looks, the less than happy returns , the aggrivation… and of course, the stabbings :)
